Terms and conditions

Eligibility for Price Match

The price match feature is available for families requesting funeral services through FuneralSmart.

To qualify for a price match, the following conditions must be met:

• The competitor’s quote must be for an identical package (e.g., same service type, coffin, cemetery/crematorium, inclusions, and location).
• The competitor must be a licensed and registered funeral home.
• The competitor’s price must be current and verifiable.
• The competitor’s price is not from a Funeral Home listed on our website.

Funeral homes participating in our price match policy can provide the same or greater value for the agreed price, at their sole discretion.

Submission Requirements

Families must provide the following information when requesting a price match:

• Competitor’s quoted price.
• Description of the services included in the competitor’s package.
• Proof of the competitor’s price (e.g., written quote, email, or advertisement), if required by the funeral home.

FuneralSmart will not share the competitor’s business details with our network or third parties. However, we reserve the right to share anonymised competitor pricing details with funeral homes to facilitate the price match process.

Price Match Limitations

The price match feature applies only to comparable funeral service packages.

Funeral homes are not obligated to match prices under the following circumstances:

• If the competitor’s package includes promotional discounts or special offers.
• If the competitor’s price is part of a bundled deal or group discount.
• If the competitor’s quote cannot be verified.
• If the competitor’s price would result in a sale below cost price.

The price match feature is not applicable for requests submitted after the service has been booked or completed.

Funeral Home Participation

Funeral homes participating in the price match feature agree to:

• Provide accurate and competitive offers that align with the competitor’s package.
• Clearly outline the inclusions of their matched or superior offer.
• Honour their submitted offer if selected by the family.

Funeral homes retain the right to decline price match requests that do not meet the eligibility criteria.

Final Agreement

Once a family selects a funeral home’s price match offer, both parties are bound by the agreed terms.

FuneralSmart is not liable for disputes arising between families and funeral homes after the agreement is finalized.
