Each Funeral Home Partner is an independent funeral business yet at the same time each belongs to a larger funeral home network. So, while you operate your business as usual, you can also be assured that all our Partners are being supported by a network of colleagues. This means we can share good practice and ensure that we are collectively working to continually improve the quality of funeral care we provide.

Our Funeral Home Partners all deliver person-centred, flexible funeral care within their local communities and work hard to give people the style and tone of support that works best for them. Their focus is on supporting you to create a funeral which is helpful to you and your friends and family – this may be a traditional funeral, or include more modern and contemporary choices.

Funeral services in Australia are generally unregulated and there is no national minimum standards for funeral directors to comply with. Our Funeral Home Partner network means that all partners will have access to robust support and can share good practice with one another. We believe this creates a helpful balance of a funeral business remaining independent and local, while also receiving support from a wider, motivated and engaged team of colleagues.

By becoming a Funeral Home Partner, you will be supported by talented and thoughtful people focussed on delivering the best funeral care in their local community. Funeral Smart will deliver educational webinars, conduct funeral and bereavement research, shares blogs and newsletters and has published a funeral self-help book which is available globally.

What you need to become a partner

There are a few requirements you need to meet so we can set you up to become a Funeral Home Partner.

Be an approved independent and family owned funeral business.
Operate from an established, purpose-fitted funeral premise to arrange and conduct funeral services or provide funeral goods and services in your own right and under a registered name.
Use a Mortuary Facility approved by the relevant authority, suitable for the storage of bodies and preparation of bodies for burial or cremation.
Own / lease suitable vehicles such as a hearse(s) and vehicle suitable for the transfer of bodies from the place of death to the funeral home, cemetery/crematorium.
Demonstrate that all transfers are undertaken by a recognised Mortuary Transfer Service.

How do I become a Funeral Home Partner?

Membership is extended to approved independent funeral homes. Funeral brands owned by publicly listed funeral companies are not allowed to list with eziFunerals.

Before you start

Before partnering with us and conducting more funerals, you will need to agree to our Terms and Conditions and submit the following documents:

ABN
Valid website address
Current price list

After starting the signup process, you’ll be required to pass a background check. Processes for funeral home partner background checks will vary in each State.
